DANIEL 9:24-27

This prophecy gives us a time frame of when the Messiah will be born.  It is widely accepted by bible scholars that the “seventy sevens” actually means 490 years.  In 490 years after this prophecy, foretelling the coming of the Messiah, Yeshua was born in Bethlehem as God said He would be in Micah 5:2.  In Micah 5:2, it says that this person will be from ancient of days.  In Isaiah 9:5, God said that one of His names would be ETERNAL FATHER and MIGHTY GOD.  This person that God is prophecying to come is the Messiah and not just a Messiah.  He is God, who alone can forgive sin.

As you can see in verse 24, He will finish transgression and put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness.  Only God can do this, to forgive sin and atone for it for you.  He is the Most Holy.  He is God.  This does not mean that nobody will sin any more.  It does mean that this Messiah, this Holy One of God, God in the flesh, is THE ATONEMENT!

In verse 25, it tells us that this Messiah will come after the temple is rebuilt (the second one) in Jerusalem.  Yeshua was born at this time.

In verse 26, it says that the Anointed One (Mashiach in Hebrew, Messiah in English, and Christos or Christ in Greek) will come and be cut off.  God tells us in Isaiah 53 that the Messiah will be rejected by His own people (the Jews). After the Messiah is to be cut off (crucified), the city and the sanctuary will be destroyed.   This happened in 70 A.D. or 37 years after the death and resurrection of Yeshua or Jesus.  Yeshua came back to life in 3 days, as He said He would, to prove that He was God.  It also says that war will continue until the end and desolations have been decreed.  Many Jews don’t believe that Yeshua or Jesus is God and Messiah, because they say that He failed His mission of bringing about world peace; because He didn’t bring about world peace.  In Isaiah 2:2 it says that there will be world peace in ACHERIM YOMIM or in the LAST OF DAYS.  The last of days couldn’t have been 2000 yeas ago.  The last days will be when the Messiah returns and brings about this world peace.  In Isaiah 53, God said that the Messiah would be rejected by His own people.  If Yeshua isn’t the Messiah, then we will have to reject Him when He comes in the future.  Is that what you want?  Is that what God said?  God said that He will bring about peace, but He had to come and be rejected and die for the forgiveness of our sins first.  God set the time and order of His plan.  It’s up to us to know it and believe it, no matter what.  It doesn’t make any difference what your rabbi says, or your parents, or your family.  What God said is the only thing that matters.  In the meantime, the peace we have now is that all our sins are forgiven and that the Messiah has come to heal and forgive sin in our lives so we can be accepted by God into Heaven on Judgment Day.  Yeshua will be the Judge.  We have until the day we die to accept Yeshua as Messiah and to have all our sins forgiven.  Do you know when you will die?  If it were today, are you sure that you are forgiven?  Have you accepted God at His word and accepted His proof, here, that the Messiah has come to forgive you?  It’s up to and between you and God.  If you are a Jew, you will always be a Jew.  You will be a Jew that God wants you to be.  I am, and I hope you are or will be after you see this proof.  If you want to see how to accept Yeshua into your life and soul, please check out the TICKET TO HEAVEN page.  God bless you!

In verse 27 it says that He will put an end to sacrifice and offering.  He is the offering and atonement for our sin now.  The only way to be forgiven by God of all your sins is to believe in the Messiah who God promised to come.  Can you see how all this has happened already, exactly as God said it would?!   God wanted to make sure that we couldn’t sacrifice for sin any longer.  He allowed the temple to be destroyed so we couldn’t do that any more!

daniel-9

9:24      Seventy sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.

9:25      Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven sevens, and sixty-two sevens.  It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

9:26      After the sixty-two sevens, the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.  The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.  The end will come like a flood; War will continue until the end and desolations have been decreed.

9:27      He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven in the middle of the seven.  In the middle of the seven, he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.  And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.
