MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURES
These bible verses are in the following format:
Book Chapter number : Verse number
What the verse is about. “Biblical quote”. (My explanation and why it is so special to me).
God’s Word is more precious than all the money, gold, diamonds and treasure in the world. It is God’s gift to us to read, to study and to live it out in our lives. The more we LIVE it, the better life gets and the closer to God’s image we become. Remember what God said in Genesis 1:22. “Let us create man in our image.” He didn’t say, “I will create man in my image.” Who do you think the US is talking about. (See John 1:1 and decide for yourself).

Matthew 6:10
The Lord’s Prayer: “…thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” (The Lord wants us to have Heaven on earth by believing in Him and following His example. We are to love and forgive everyone. We are all brothers and sisters. We are here to help and care for each other in the good times and the hard times. God will never give us anything too hard for us to handle. We should use the hard times and witness to others in how the Lord, our faith and our friends have helped us through it. This is your WITNESS.)

Isaiah 9:5
These are the names that the Messiah was to be called: “Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Have you heard these names before? How could one person be all these? How could a person be a man, a helper, Almighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace all at the same time? It could only be God in person to show us how to live and live a perfect, sinless life. The Messiah was to be the Savior of the world, to forgive us all our sins and to be our role model. What a wonderful plan and gift from God! This is the verse that allowed me to finally believe that Jesus was the Messiah. It all fit. It took me 8 years and reading through the whole bible from cover to cover 3 times to finally believe. It wasn’t easy, but what a blessing it has been.)

Ephesians 2:8
We are saved by God’s grace: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the Gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast.” (G R A C E: God’ Riches At Christ’s Expense. God gave us His Son to die on the cross, so by His shedding of blood, our sins are forgiven once and for all.) All we have to do is REPENT of our sins (ask forgiveness from God, the people we have wronged and/or confess them to each other or a clergy; make an obvious change in our life to be more like Jesus every day), BELIEVE in His Son and that He died to forgive our sins, and be BAPTIZED. We can’t buy our way into heaven or work our way in. We don’t have enough money and we certainly can’t be good enough. We have to be sinless in God’s eyes to enter Heaven and that is only possible if all our sins are forgiven. That is why He sent His Son down to earth. He sacrificed His life for us. That was His mission! He did it for me and for YOU.

John 3:16
God sent His Son so we could all be saved. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.” (Can you imagine having an only child and sacrificing them by having them crucified on a cross so everyone in the whole world could be saved? What a gift! That’s how much God loves us. That is what Jesus did, even though He knew what was going to happen. He gave His life willingly for YOU.)
____
John 3:3
You must be BORN AGAIN to enter the kingdom of Heaven. “Amen, Amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” (We have to make a personal commitment to Jesus; to believe in Him and follow Him the rest of our lives. It is not good enough to be born into a Christian family. We have to believe that He died on the cross and shed His blood so all of our sins could be forgiven.)

Romans 8:28
Everything works for the good for those who love God. “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined He also called; and those He called He also justified; and those he justified he also glorified.” (Nothing happens by chance or coincidence if you believe in and trust in God and His Son. He knows our hearts far better than we do. He knew about us before we were even born. He knew what we would be capable of doing, so He chose us to serve Him and His purpose. He not only chose us because He knew us but he also made us just and glorious in His sight because of the sacrifice His Son made on the cross to forgive all our sins.)
____
John 8:12
Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (There is only one right way, and that is God’s way. You will always be searching for something if you do not know Jesus, since everything was created through Him in the very beginning of time and creation. See John 1:1).
____
Galatians 5:22
The fruits of the Spirit. “In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another.” (Oh, the blessings that we have if we only put our faith and trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!)

Acts 2:36, 2:38 and John 20:31
Repent, believe, and be baptized and you will be saved so you can enter into eternal life in Heaven with God. “Therefore let the whole house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him the Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.” John 20:31 “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of [his] disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may [come to] believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.”

Matthew 12:31
There is only one unforgivable sin. “Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” (God creates all of us with the Holy Spirit in us. The Holy Spirit is the power that leads us to believe in Jesus as the Messiah and Savior. If we don’t believe in or shut out the Holy Spirit and won’t believe, then we are saying no to the power that leads us to salvation, and we can’t be forgiven. If we can’t be forgiven our sins through the blood of Christ on the cross, then we can’t have eternal life with God. There is only other place where our soul can go, and that is with Satan to a place called Hell, for all eternity. Hell is the place where there is no presence of God. See Luke 16:22. What a horrible thought!)
____
Mark 1:11
God is very pleased with His Son, Jesus. “And a voice came from the Heavens, You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” (Jesus was baptized by John, and when He came up out of the water, the Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, descended on Jesus. We are to follow Jesus in baptism so we may be cleansed of our sins and we may be born again. See John 3:3.)
